Not your typical race

Wienerwald · Anninger

Some segments are timed. The rest are yours to ride at your own pace — chat, snack, recover, regroup.

Good Times Gravel is a community-driven challenge where experience, accessibility and shared vibes take centre stage.
Guided by our motto connect • compete • smile, the event brings together gravel cycling, outdoor adventure and a thoughtfully curated programme.

Whether you race or you roll, you’ll finish where you started – at the campfire with a cold one and a story to tell.

Good Times Gravel is all about bringing the cycling community together for an unforgettable day that showcases the roots of Gravel: riding, racing, and connecting!
The event is held in collaboration with SPORTUNION Südstadt and the Scouts Südstadt, whose annual end-of-summer celebration takes place on the same day.
Thanks to this collaboration, visitors can also enjoy a family-friendly program with activities throughout the day, making Good Times Gravel a great destination not only for riders, but also for friends, supporters, and families.
Whether you’re lining up at the start, cheering on participants, or simply stopping by to enjoy the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone.

The Segments

1. Gaaden of Pain

2.2 km · 100m up · 20m down · Km 12.7 – 14.9

This segment marks the start in the competition! From the green meadows near Gaaden, you will climb into the lush forest, following a moderately steep, unpaved road. The climbing section of the segment averages 6% over 1.7 km. The segment ends on a short downhill over the crest of the climb.

2. Snackrifice

5.5 km · 310m up · 20m down · Km 26.8 – 32.2

This fully unpaved segment is the hardest and longest of all. The first third is a false flat until you reach the foot of the climb. The climb features a length of 3.3 km and averages 8%. On the climb there are two sections with gradients that allow you to catch your breath. Push over the crest of the climb until you reach the end of the segment. Now you have reached the feed zone, where snacks and drinks will be provided for you!

3. Goodtimes express!

5.6 km · 60m up · 140m down · Km 38.5 – 44.1

Unpack your descending abilities and fly down the descent! The terrain features a mixture of forest and meadow and does not require a particularly technical skill set. Towards the end of the segment there are two short and gentle climbs with an elevation of 40m and 20m respectively and a 4% average gradient. The segment ends 1 km after the last climbing section.

4. Corner like you can!

2.6 km · 0m up · 20m down · Km 61.7 – 64.3

Unpack your cornering and acceleration abilities on this completely flat 2.6 km segment featuring no hills and only your all-out effort.

5. Hilltop Smiles

3.25 km · 50m up · 20m down · Km 70.3 – 73.6

A flat gravel road and a gentle climb will lead you to the uphill end of the segment. When you reach the church, you’ve made it! Take a minute to enjoy the view of the vineyards near the village of Gumpoldskirchen!

6. Final Boss

3.8 km · 200m up · 50m down · Km 74.3 – 78.1

This segment is the last challenge of the day! Right at the start you will follow a steep and paved road from the vineyards into the forest. This climb averages 9% over 1.7 km. You will encounter two more climbs of 0.3 km and 0.4 km before reaching the end of the segment, marking the end of the race!

Good Times Gravel is an outdoor sports event on public roads, gravel roads, cycling paths and trails. You ride at your own risk and are responsible for your equipment, riding ability, decisions and conduct toward other riders, volunteers, road users and third parties.

By buying a ticket, you accept our General Terms and Conditions and our Participation Terms.

Things people ask

Email us if not covered

What types of bicycles are allowed?

Mountain bikes and gravel bikes are allowed.

To tackle the two major climbs, we recommend light gearing such as 31/36, 38/46 or 42/52, plus tires wider than 40 mm with small to medium knobs to keep things safe and comfortable.

If you ride some form of e-bike because of an impairment, that is okay — please let us know beforehand. The only requirement is that every bicycle complies with applicable road traffic regulations, is equipped accordingly, and that you wear a helmet at all times.

How to get there & Parking

This is the event location – Freizeitgelände, Maria Enzersdorf

Hopefully you get there by train (Mödling Bahnhof) or on your bike. If you do have to park your car, these are the options:

Theißplatz — about 300 m from the venue.

At the end of Hohe-Wand-Straße — about 200 m from the venue.

St. Gabriel, next to the venue — please follow the instructions of our staff.

Where can I see the route? Are we riding on closed roads?

We share the GPX file of the route a week before the event. Some of the parts are only accessible on the day of the event. Good Times Gravel takes place on public roads and cycling paths, so all traffic regulations must be observed at all times. This also applies to the timed segments.

Respectful and considerate behavior toward other road users, cyclists and pedestrians is mandatory. Irresponsible behavior such as dangerous riding, littering or putting others at risk may result in disqualification.

You can find more details in our Terms and Conditions.

Is there timing?

Yes. You compete on the timed and marked segments for the fastest overall time. Your individual segment times will be added together.

To appear on the leaderboard, you need to track your ride with a GPS device (headunit, phone, …) and upload your GPX/fit file it to https://goodtimesgravel.at/upload after your ride and before 17:00 on race day. We will do the math and publish the leaderboard. It works best with our partner Komoot. There is also a free month of premium membership with the ticket purchase. Follow the link in your info mail before the event!

Pro Tip: make sure to continue past the end of a segment to fully cover the required distance for the GPS to notice.
Is there a place to get changed? Where do I put personal belongings?

Yes, we got you covered. You can get changed in the Volksschule Südstadt gymnasium, about 400 m from the venue. Showers for riders are also available there.

You can leave your bag with us before heading out. We will take good care of it, but please do not leave valuables in it.

Will my bike be secure while I hang out?

Yes. We will have a self-service bike drop right next to our race office so everyone can keep an eye out.

Bring a small lock, borrow one of ours, or buy a sleek Kryptonite Click Lock for €10 on site.

What about food and drinks?

Food and beverages will be available throughout the day at the venue. One meal and one drink are included in your ticket price.

Our lovely volunteers will handle affairs at the aid station at the halfway point. Take a rest, refill your bottles an have a snack while connecting with other riders.

While on the route, you are responsible for your own nutrition and hydration. We recommend approx. 500ml of sugar drink or water and 1 bar/gel per hour of riding

How do we get our goodie bags?

It’s best to grab it after your ride. You can trade your stem sticker at the info point at the venue or your goodie bag. We will be there the whole day.

Is there a repair service?

The skilled mechanics of the BikeSchneiderei will be there in case Murphy’s Law strikes.

While riding the loops, you are responsible for ensuring that your bicycle remains in safe working condition. Bring a tube just in case — you might even be able to help someone else.

Will the event take place in bad weather?

Yes, yes, yes — as long as it is safe to ride.

Cycling is an outdoor sport, and even a rainy adventure can become a memorable experience.
